26D

I just saw a 26D for sale in "craigslist.org", San Francisco. I don't know the year. It appears in good shape and he's asking $8,000. How did you like yours?

I just picked up a 26x this week, hoping for good things.

value of 26D

I purchased an 88 26D last July for 5K. It was in fair condition - a little dirty but sound. No upgrades except for CDI furling gear. Trailer seems ok but basic. 8hp Honda 4 stroke in good condition. I've since purchased a new main, put new tires on the trailer and am working on a number of upgrades. photo:

Hey Richard, Did you get your Power Tiller? I got mine the day before I went out on the Bay, and it worked great. The protector tape and foam you received is because my wife split her knuckle wide open trying to shift from forward to reverse. I put it on and moved the controls further back on the tiller, and works fine now. Now I need a tiller that won't bend under weather. photo:

Power-Tiller

Hi Greg,

Yes I did get it, but have only just fitted it onto my new Nissan 9.8 four stroke. I had to get a remote kit from Nissan, which did not have any instrustions, but I have figured it out and after working on it this weekend, it is all ready to mount on the outboard bracket and go for a trial run. I decided to mount the electrical switches on the front of the laz instead of on the Power-Tiller. That way I could still use the existing switches from the motor and utilise the stop switch with the lanyard.

I must admit I would like to try and find an alternative fitting to attach it to the tiller. If I come up with something, I will let you know. photo:

Depends, depends, depends!

I've seen Mac 26's for 3K that I couldn't be paid to drag away, and others for 10K that were a bargain.

Real sellings price depends on condition, stuff, location, how bad seller wants to sell, and how bad buyer wants to buy.

Generally, boats in the lower states, especially FL, TX, and CA, sell for less than more northerly states. Freshwater states generally sell for more than saltwater states. Has to do with the impact of the local environment on the boat.

See the "Buying a Boat" section on my website. All kinds of pointers, and a self evaluation form. photo:

Re: mac26 just purchased by Ron, Oroville

Ron,

Hey Ron,
While looking for your boat there in Oroville, did you happen to see a mac 25 (asking 4750) ? It's on the for sale section of this site. If so, any comments on condition ?

You can email me at rickrfa@adelphia.net if you want.

Thanks photo:

off topic - anti-spam trick

OT post:

Rick -

I recommend not putting your e-mail address in a public forum post like you do above - there are lots of "spiders" or "bots" out there that systematically search these places for valid e-mail addresses and then bomb that address with spam.

Instead, put your address as something like

rickrfaSPAMFREE@adelphia.net

then add text telling legitimate readers to delete the SPAMFREE letters when they write you a note.

alternatively, do not use the ampersand in the middle, and write your address as

rickfra "at" adelphia.net

I don't know what is....

going on, but all of a sudden, I'm getting 30 to 40 spams a day. I have the high end Norton protection, but many of them are getting past that.

Now, it's not all bad...I got one from this person called "party girl"...I read that one.

This is driving me crazier...how can I make them stop?...well, except for "party girl". photo:

30-40 spasms a day. Holy crap.

Oooo Dave, when I read that post I misread 30-40 spams a day as spasms. I'm thinking: Dude, Norton isn't going to help with that, you need a doctor, fast. Turns out others on this forum think you need a doctor as well.

Good thing you are one of the MacGregor Classic gurus, or we wouldn't let you back in the bar everyday at this time. photo:

I have a doctor...

but he's confused too. He keeps telling me to stay off the internet when I'm...well, medicated.

I can't help it though...I love this crap...and I especially love pissin' people off, especially Wisconsiner's. photo:
